I've always heard that the L'oreal Telescopic Mascara was an amazing lengthening mascara. So many people love this and while on my mascara kick that I've been going through, I decided to see if they were right about it's lengthening abilities.
Turns out they were and this has become one of my favorite mascaras, along with Covergirl Lash Perfection and the mascara I recently reviewed, Revlon PhotoReady 3D Volume. Click
here to see that! I love this mascara!

Product Description:
Telescopic Original Mascara enhances your lashes intense length and unique lash by lash separation. The flat side of the patented flexible Precision brush lengthens lashes up to 60%, while the comb side of the brush prescisely separates lashes for a clump free result.

- Removes easily with soap and water.
- Suitable for sensitive eyes and contact wearers.
- Fragrance-free.
- Comes in 3 shades: Blackest Black, Black, and Black Brown.
Packaging: The packaging is meant to resemble a telescope, hence the name Telescopic. While I do think this is a cute idea, I'm not a fan of the gold color of tube. It's very slim and fits nicely in your hands, but I just think it's very plain and boring.
Applicator: I never thought in a million years I would like a mascara with an applicator like this. It's so skinny! Usually I like really thick mascara applicators, so I definitely was surprised. It is also something I haven't seen before in a mascara either. As you know from the product description, it has flat edges and comb edges which combined are supposed to give length and separation, but I honestly don't see what a flat surface could do for your lashes. One thing I do not like about this, is that applicator is one of the flimsy ones that bends back and forth. I really don't like the instability it gives me when I'm putting this thing towards my eyeball.
Formula: I do find this mascara to be very lengthening, which I love. However, when it comes to the 'lash by lash separation' claim this mascara was given, I beg to differ. This clumps chunks of my lashes together, which is preventable if you pair this with a mascara that does separate well like I always do or use a lash comb before and/or after application. I also noticed that the formula is very wet, which I really don't like. I can tell that once this mascara dries out a bit, I will love it even more. Lastly, this mascara does not flake.
Price: This mascara is almost $10 at the drugstore. I feel like that is very pricey for a drugstore mascara. I feel like a drugstore mascara should range from 4-8 dollars, depending on the quality. I just feel like it's not THAT good to be THAT much, especially for something like mascara that needs to be repurchased often. Like I've stated before, always always always look for coupons. When I know I need to pick up something, I always search for printable coupons.
and after just 1 coat of mascara, this is the result.
*Keep in mind, I do apply multiple layers normally which makes them super long, but when I took these photos my eyes were watering pretty bad so I stopped after the first coat.
(ignore the weird lashes in the middle, that doesn't usually happen.. lol)
Overall Opinions: Like I said, I really love this mascara. I know once it starts to dry out a tad, I will love it even more (sometimes that just happens, ya' know?) I love how well it lengthens, but I definitely recommend pairing with another mascara that separates and thickens. (I'm still playing around with good combinations at the moment, but when I find the perfect combo I will share it with you guys.) If the brush is something that turns you off about this, I would reconsider and give it a try because this definitely proved my original assumptions wrong. All in all, great lengthening mascara and it will definitely be a staple in my mascara collection.
I also want to note that this mascara also comes in a Carbon Black formula, which I didn't know about when I purchased this. I'll probably end up getting that version instead next time around.
Xoxo, Kailan.
