TUTORIAL: Wearable Aqua Eyes ft. BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette

You guys all know from my last FOTD post that I've been having a lot of fun lately playing around with my BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette. I'll be doing a review on this palette within the next week, but for now I just wanted to do a couple tutorials using this palette. The BH Cosmetics Party Girl Palette has 40 colorful and neutral shades, so I decided to combine the two in this tutorial and show you a wearable way to wear color. I chose to use an aqua and brown and I absolutely love the contrast between the two!

Start out by applying your eyeshadow base. I used MAC Painterly Paint Pot from lid to brow (not shown) and then applied NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk to the browbone and lid.

1. With a flat shader brush, apply an aqua shade from the palette to the entire lid. I mixed to shades to get more of a blue toned aqua.
2. Using a fluffy blending brush, sweep a matte, mid-tone brown (2-3 shades darker than your skintone) into the crease to act as a transition color and to blend out the harsh edges of the blue.
3. Apply the dark red-toned brown from the palette in a sideways 'V' shape to the outer corner of the eye using a pencil brush.
4. Take a different pencil brush or wipe all the product off the one you used in the last step, and blend out the top edges of the brown. It helps to use the pencil brush on its side, rather than with the tip. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you get the desired intensity (I repeated this step one more time.)
5. Take the same mid-tone brown with the same fluffly blending brush used in step 2 and further blend out the edges of the dark brown.
6. Apply the shimmery white eyeshadow from the palette to your browbone using a large shader brush.
7. Apply the same dark brown shade from the palette and the same pencil brush used in step 3, with the tip, apply it to your lower lashline.
8. Apply the shimmery peachy shade from the palette to your inner corner using an angled eyeshadow brush.
9. This next step is purely preference, but this would be the time to apply eyeliner. I did winged liner with a gel liner using a precise eyeliner brush and also applied it to my upper and lower waterlines. Finish off with some mascara and lashes, if you prefer. (I tend to skip lashes because I have long lashes already.)
